Nürburgring Project – Nick's VW Polo Mk3
Some customer projects have a story behind them, and Nick's VW Polo Mk3 is a great example.
The Polo has been in his family since 2001. Now, more than two decades later, Nick is giving it a new lease of life. With the ultimate goal of getting, it onto the Nürburgring in Germany.
As part of the ongoing build, Nick ordered 8 metres of our Black Stretch Suede to retrim the inside.
A fresh look for the interior
Nick has used the black suede across several areas of the Polo's interior.
The headlining has been retrimmed, along with the front and rear pillars. The boot area has also received the same treatment.
It's a good example of how our suede can be used across different vehicle panels.

What Nick thought of the material
Nick was pleased with how easy the suede was to work with. Especially around the more detailed interior pieces.
"The stretch suede is so good to work with and Auto Suede's service is second to none. Just enough stretch to make trimming car interior pieces much easier. 10/10 Thank you."
He also left this feedback:
"Awesome seller, great prices, delivered really fast and great fabric."
It's particularly good to hear Nick mention the amount of stretch. It has enough flexibility to work around interior shapes, without excessive stretching. One of the reasons customers choose our material.

The Nürburgring ambition
The bigger story behind the Polo is Nick's ambition to get it ready for the Nürburgring.
In August, Nick travelled to Germany with his son for their first road trip to the famous circuit.
They covered 2,500 miles and completed 20 laps, with Nick describing it as the best week of the year.
The Polo wasn't ready for that trip, but getting the family car onto the circuit remains the goal.

A project worth following
What makes this project special is the history behind the car.
The Polo has been part of Nick's family since 2001. Rather than letting it go, he's putting the time and effort into bringing it back to life.
We're pleased that Auto Suede has played a small part in the build so far.
Thanks to Nick for sharing his photographs, feedback and the story behind the Polo.
